An organization named Jammu Kashmir Plebiscite Front was started. The group that wanted to liberate Jammu and Kashmir.
Many youths of Kashmir should join this organization. The name of one of them was Maqbool Butt. Maqbool Butt went to Pakistan in 1959 to escape from the police and took admission in Peshawar University.
There he did masters in Urdu language, after that in 1961 he contested and won a local election in Pakistan.
During this, he was continuously raising the demand for the independence of Kashmir. Although he said that Kashmir should be a separate independent country, not a part of India or Pakistan.
In 1965 he formed a new faction with some of his associates, the National Liberation Front (NLF).
Maqbool Butt was arrested in India in 1966, but escaped from prison
Then came back to Kashmir in 1966, Maqbool and his associates kidnapped a CID Inspector Amar Chand. When Amar Chand tried to escape, he was shot.
