2013 Best Performances: #7 Dillon Ward Shuts Down Machine
In the MLL, goalie is by far the most difficult position to become acclimated too, especially when you're thrown into the fire in the middle of July. Dillon Ward was forced to do just that when Brett Queener was out sick as the Nationals took on Ohio. Ward stepped up in the most crucial moment, stopping 21 of the 32 shots he saw in a big win over the Machine.
The rest of 2013: Ward started the year in the NCAA, where he posted the best save percentage in D-I (.662) while making the second most saves per game (14.86). In the MLL, Ward started just one other game, a 12-10 loss to New York in which he made 11 saves. His 10.98 goals against and .567 save percentage show a promising start to his young career.
