American luxury cars once offered a very distinctive look and feel, but since the Big Three now compete with cars built around the world, their cars tend to look less special. Lincoln redesigned the 2018 Navigator to bring back some of that classic style and swagger, but it also features the 450-hp Raptor V6 and an optional 20-speaker stereo for modern appeal. Given the changing tastes of U.S. shoppers, it's no surprise Lincoln chose an SUV instead of a sedan for this modern-and-classic approach.
All Navigators use a 450-hp, 510 lb-ft of torque version of the Ford F-150 Raptor's 3.5-liter V6. Using a new 10-speed transmission, that engine can deliver power to the rear or all four wheels, with mileage estimates of 16 mpg city, 23 highway, 19 combined in rear-wheel-drive versions; 16, 21, 18 for 4-wheel-drive versions; and 16, 22, 18 for RWD long-wheelbase versions.
