This is an Limited Trim and the only added options on the one we drove were the cargo cross bar for mounting extra storage and equipment, paint protection, and a chrome bumper protector which isn’t the most necessary option in the world. I mean I guess it does protect your bumper a bit. Anyways the biggest reason why people get the limited trim is because standard this vehicle is optioned well as we will see.
Exterior:
I am a HUGE fan of the brand new design language for the highlanders. I feel like it’s a lot more sleek but still has some nice sharp edges. Starting with the new front facia the, these head lights have LED DRLs and fog lights but full LEDs are available.
The front bumper is clean and I like the blacked out grill. The LED project beems are a lot more modern looking and I wish they came standard across all trims. You also get higher output LED fog lights compared to the lower trim.
Going on to the side you have your sleek integrated turn signal light on the side view mirror. I do want to know that unlike the XLE, this side view mirror has the puddle light with the highlander logo which looks sweet at night.
these wheels are the 20” machine finished allow rims and the fill the wheel arches very nicely. You do have a sunroof here standard, but panoramic sunroof is only available on the platinum trim. Looking at the rest of the side you’ll see those aggressive body lines which really make this car look like its longer than it actually is.
Going around the back, the taillights are full LED with the exception of the turn signals. One thing I did want to highlight is the extended deck lid spoiler which really gives this car the sleek look I referred to earlier. It extends really far back and I think it’s my favorite aesthetic feature of this SUV.
Ok stepping inside just the driver seat, you are greeted with fully power adjustable leather seats which are really comfortable. Once you sit in hear you have a commanding vew of all your infotainment, climate controls, and safety feature controls.
Standard is the full suite of driver assist package with Toyota driver sense 2.0 which has lane departure pre collision assist, blind spot monitoring, automatic highbeam, adaptive cruise control at all speeds, rear cross traffic alerts, and some unique stuff like road sign detection and cyclist detection. After learning more about this system I am really impressed with its capability and intend on doing a more in depth review on this safety system.
Going on to the entune system this is the 8 inch system which is standard, but there is also a 12.3 inch system I have not tested yet but plan on doing a separate review on that once its available so smash that like button if you want to see more indepth highlander content. I did a detail walk through on the 8 inch system and will link that below once it becomes available. One other display I wanted to point out is between the gauge cluster and gives information like a digital speedometer and mpg read outs.
overall I really like how spacious the interior feels and with the way this dash is design, you do have a good amount of compartments and pass throughs for connecting your phone to the usb ports. The center console is unique in that the first thing you see is the wireless charger. I really wish they relocated it under the entune system for ease of use. In terms of the 2nd and third row seating, I covered that in the XLE trim since it has not changed for this trim. I will link that video below.

Ok that’s gonna wrap up the walkthrough portion of this review. Before we get on a drive, please comment any questions you have about this car. I will be doing continuous coverage and videos of this car throughout the coming weeks since there is a lot more to cover in terms of trims so if you are one of the people that want specific content please smash that like button, drop a comment so I can see and respond to it and subscribe to be kept up to date once the next video is released. It helps this channel out a lot and get this video in front of others who might be interested in this car as well. Ok with that said lets fire this things up and take it on a drive.
