Aren't you a little old to be making Phobos Anomaly again? That's pretty much all this is. How many references to Phobos Anomaly and Paradox can be used while still making it somewhat different. Almost every room is a reimagining of a Phobos Anomaly room. Actually I think every single thing about that map is referenced at some point here. The only thing taken from Paradox is really the remix of it's midi, which i do love. Imperial Solutions I feel is one of the tracks that could be considered the theme song of original Odyssey, and this is a very faithful retelling of it. Made me crack a smile when I first heard it honestly. I do really love that after 20 years there's still so much appreciation for Odyssey and its something people wanted more of, and that Paul was willing to do this for us. I've only known Odyssey a few years but I feel like I've loved it just as long as I've loved Doom as a whole.
Anyways.. For a map of just references it looks nice and plays well, and the one original room, the one where the lights turn off, is actually a good challenge and creative.
Our journey is still just beginning. Hell, there's still 2 more Episode 1 maps. Each of the 5 episodes contains not one but TWO secret levels. The map 10 of each is inaccessible without cheats, and seem to all just be silly gimmicks, but I liked surfing the mighty green so I'm open to it.
