Capcom vs SNK was released in 2000 on Sega's Naomi board. It featured five hidden characters, all of them hidden bosses in someway too, as well as hidden EX versions of all regular characters in the game, barring Iori and Ryu. It's a damn good game, if a little slow. Also, the Capcom and SNK grooves are both oversimplified, with the SNK groove representing a long since unused combat system which hadn't been used in an SNK game since 1996. These issues were both rectified by the game's fantastic sequel Capcom vs SNK 2, which featured better grooves, better speed and many more characters.
Akuma is the hidden boss of the entire game, fought I believe when the player has around 80 groove points at the end of a playthrough, which is no easy task. I'm playing the update to the game, Capcom vs SNK Pro, where everything is made available from the start, though I do have an emulator and rom with all characters unlocked on the original game should anyone want it.
Akuma is the same old character we've seen before. We all know who this character is, and how he plays; a shotoclone with a couple of unique special moves. I've already done 14 playthroughs of him! That said, he is one of my favourite Capcom characters, so this was still quite fun to do, but don't expect any in-depth explanations on this one.
