Zero was introduced in the game Mega Man X, though this version of him was introduced into a spin-off game called Mega Man Zero. He's a fantastic inclusion to this game, not only being quite unique and unexpected for a fighting game, but also having a variety of unique moves at his disposal. As you'd expect from a Mega Man character, he has the ability to charge a number of his moves, meaning that to be his most effective he has to keep some distance to the enemy while he charges. This can be a problem in this game, as the opponent prefers usually to disrupt you any way they can. As a result, though Zero is certainly a good character, he almost seems a little ill-coped in this game. Some of his special moves are difficult to pull off properly (which is a problem for many of the characters in this game, actually) and he relies pretty exclusively on chaining combos in order to maximise damage, as was the case with the playable versions of Shin Akuma and Mr. Karate. With his speed however, he;'s usually quite competent, but there's just something about Zero which takes some getting used to. And considering he's never made another fighting game appearance, it's up to the player whether they consider it worth bothering with, as with much of this flawed game.
