The last character to cover, Dan is the other possible default mid-boss alongside Goenitz, although it seems much rarer to fight him. Considering Dan was a parody of Ryo and Robert from Art of Fighting, it must have been weird for them to program him.

Dan is one of my favourite Capcom characters. This is the third time I've covered him, having previously covered his hidden appearances in Street Fighter Alpha and Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix. He's an underdog out for revenge against Sagat, who killed his father. With his weak moves and goofy personality, this makes him a considerably sympathetic character in my eyes, and as a result one of the more satisfying characters to use. He's a character only intended for experts and if you can master Dan, then you've mastered the game. From this video however, it's probably quite apparent that I have not. There's no denying that Dan is chore to use. His moves have little range, and do little damage, or they have an excessive charge time. SNK, being good sports, even gave him more moves from the Sakazaki family, giving him his own Haoh Sho Koh Ken amongst others. As a result, I like Dan in theory, but in a game this incompetent he's near on impossible to complete it with without being incredibly good with him. Such a thing is to be expected (and he's more sensible as a default mid-boss than Goenitz), so that's ultimately okay, but in an already frustrating game it's not particularly fun. Still, I think Dan was a decent addition to the game.
