My Granite Earth lazy susan arrived today. The lazy susan is bolted to the top of the body, then the dome sits on top. This allows the dome to rotate.
Unfortunately, the lazy susan only rotates about 4 to 5 inches and then binds up.

The reason I bought the Granite Earth one is that it already has holes drilled specifically for use with R2D2 builds. Other ones will require the holes to be drilled after purchase. Reading about different brands I did come across people who received damaged units but I thought I'd take the chance.

I'll be attempting to return it, and instead order a different brand. One of the recommended brands is $25 less and you can purchase it via Amazon. Reading the returns page on the Granite Earth website indicates that I'll probably have to pay for return shipping of the one I received from them.

UPDATE: Less than half an hour after I sent an email to Granite Earth explaining the problem and asking for a refund, they replied that they would send me a replacement 'right away' and apologized for the trouble. Although I asked for a refund and not a replacement, if the replacement works properly, I'll be satisfied.
