I don't usually get this enraged or snarky. I swear!
FINALLY, with the aid of a map I found online, I find the remaining switches in this monstrous metropolis (and, by luck, find the code needed to progress on a paper outside the jazz club). A good hour and a half into stream, Daniel White gets that door open, and the Demon Space Wizard shows up again. Looks like we're gonna hvae to JUMP!
After the section that I loke to call "The Ecco The Dolphin Ripoff", White at last gains entrance to the ailien warehouse/spaceport. It's MASSIVE. I won't even scorn to document all the "um where" and "um why" moments. White makes a mess of things, strikes up an unlikely alliance (after they kill me ten times), and plans an escape. Can we defeat the Demon Space Wizard once and for all? And can we make it out alive?
I found myself getting frustrated this one, more than with most of the other cinematic platformers I've played. It did have some cool parts. The ending was a little confusing, with no dialogue, but I was able to figure it out. Kind of a bittersweet ending, let's say. I would have enjoyed OnEscapee more without that one action sequence in the robot lab and without some of those puzzles. If you're going to play it, I recommend having a walkthrough close at hand. (And maybe waiting till someone releases a patch that tightens the controls?)
