Intrepidly investigating the origins of Nancy Drew (unless yuou count books or something) that you cannot buy anywhere (except on ebay or Amazon or if you're lucky your local Goodwill). After a brutal murder is committed at the high school where Nancy's Aunt Eloise works as a librarian, Nancy goes undercover as a high school student and talks to 2D cartoon characters like she's Ed Valiant. Aunt Eloise is unquestionably evil, because she puts slider puzzles in her safe, but is she evil enough to kill? Our contact at the local diner probably did it; he hits on us and is the son of a politician, so you know he can't be trusted. Maybe it was that jock who's secretly a comic book character, or that shifty foreign exchange student who changed his name?

The real story, though, is that some folks in chat and I form a high school gang called The Brigands, who snaps our fingers and has dance-offs with teachers and plays marbles and probably comits heists. That's nothing compared to one character in the game--Connie. By the end of stream, the game hints at once secret she has, but we decide on the real secret. Something much more twisted and inhuman, as an endangered species becomes an ENDANGERING species, all while we read physical books, hunt for vHS tapes, and drop quarters in payphones like it's 1998. Because it is.

I felt like I wasn't making as much progress as I tended to in later Nancy Drew games. This one has a lot of little puzzles and cyphers scattered on almost every school bulletin board. We poured over a word search for a while and found plenty, but what do they all mean?

At least there's a way to avoide swapping CDs when you change locations!
