480: Haunted Ps1 Demo Disc 2021: Peeb's Adventure, Pathogen X, SECRET GAME

PEEB ADVENTURES by Feverdream Johnny is a retro-style 3D platformer where a weird little . . . . thing trots around grappling and swinging and dodging bit sharp things and solving puzzles. He notices the game behaving oddly, hard to miss after the unfortunate Monkey King Incident. Is something taking power and rewriting the game's code? The full version will probably explain it, but this demo gives us several levels.
PATHOGEN X by sodaraptor is procedurally-generated over-the-shoulder camera survival horror game. As a spec ops soldier, we have to get a vaccine in a mutant-infested cmplex and get out alive, starting at the beginning with the level reconfigured every time we die. Which happens repeatedly. I had trouble keeping track of how much health was left and would like a bigger, higher contrast reticle. I was getting better in my shooting, learning how to kill the zombie mutants with explosions, remembering to shoot everything in case it contained ammo. Not making out with those things in the tanks, as chat advised. Once you grab the vaccine, though, the BIG BOYS come out to play. I made it to the entrance point before a massive mutant wiped me out, having even more health than I anticipated. Probably could have beaten it in anotehr run or two.
We thus played every game listed, but according to the internet, there's a hidden secret game. SUPER SKULLY 3D: SKULLY'S NIGHTMARE by Breogan Hackett casts us as teh Haunted Ps1 mascot, a skeleton who feels himself compelled to play this game and gets sucked inside the Playstation. It's a cheerful and colorful 3D platformer/collect-em-up that reminded me more of N64 than Ps1 games. We have to collect all the CDs to make it into the castle and end the game, and blast it, I could NOT find the last one. I went through every corner of the level over and over, talked to the NPC bugs repeatedly, tried to look up video walkthroughs. No dice. Eventually it was getting too late and I had to give up. That's as complete as I'll get the 2021 demo disc, and what a time it's been! Some of these games, I'll be playing the full versions.
