About this video: Have you ever wanted to build an INSANE $5,000 Gaming PC? Well, if so, this is the video for you. I cover an over the top $5,000 gaming PC build. If you have a ton of money to put into a content production gaming PC, this is the video for you! It has everything you'll need and much, much more.
Starting off, we have the best Intel processor currently on the market. An Intel Core i9 7980XE with 18 real cores and 36 total cores after hyperthreading. If you want over the top, this is the CPU for you. Next, we need an X299 motherboard to put this thing in. For that, we are going with an MSI X299 SLI Plus. This motherboard will allow for 128GB of RAM, two GPUs, and tons of other expansion!
Speaking of RAM, we are putting 32GB of G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 RAM in this thing. If there is one place for improvement on this build, this is it. I would suggest upgrading to 64GB of RAM as soon as possible. Now, what about actually hard drive storage. Well, we are going with a Kingston A400 480GB SSD for our boot drive, and two 4TB Western Digital Caviar Blue hard drives for all of our long-term storage and video editing needs.
So we've got most of the important stuff covered here, but what GPU are we going with? Well, we aren't just going to be putting one graphics card in this thing. We are dropping two 11GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Tis in this system running in SLI. This system is overkill, and the graphics cards aren't an exception! Two 1080Tis will serve you very well for a very long time.
We aren't quite done yet though. We still need a case and power supply. For our case, we are going with an NZXT Phantom. This case will give us plenty of room for cable management, and all of the hardware we are packing into this thing with adequate cooling for all of these extreme parts. As far as the power supply goes, I chose a Corsair RMx 1,000W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular power supply. This will be enough to power this system and allow for beautiful cable management.
And there you have it! That is our build guide for $5,000 gaming PC in 2018. If you have any questions about this build, please post them in the comment section below. We are more than happy to check them out. Also, be sure to like the video and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. It really helps us out, and it means a ton.
