About this video: If you want to know how to build a gaming PC for $500 in 2018, this is the video for you. I go over an incredible $500 gaming PC build that will allow you to game for a few years without having to worry about any upgrades whatsoever. This build is made possible by the lower of GPU prices as the system does have a dedicated graphics card in it!
So, what specs are we looking at exactly? Well, for the CPU, we are going with an AMD Ryzen 3 1300X. This CPU is 4 cores with a 3.7Ghz base close. With this, you will be able to play any modern games at medium settings without any issues coming from the processor.
The good thing is you won't have to worry about the graphics card either as this system is using a 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti. The Nvidia 1050Ti is a solid GPU that will fit perfectly with this CPU, and the 4GB of VRAM is plenty to run any and all modern games an moderate settings.
We are also running 8GB of RAM in this system, which is a bit low, so I recommend upgrading the RAM as soon as possible to 16GB. You won't have any trouble running games with 8GB of RAM, but you may have some issues running a ton of Chrome tabs, Discord, and a video game.
The lack of RAM doesn't have to be an issue though as this motherboard from ASRock allows for 64GB of RAM, and it has plenty of PCI slots for your GPU but also a wifi or sound card expansion if you want to. This really is an incredible motherboard with a ton of features packed into its small, micro-ATX form factor.
Lastly, we need a power supply and a case, and for the case, we are going with a Raidmax Viper II. This is a really cool red and black case with a glass side window that will allow you to see your awesome build once it is complete. For the power supply, we are going with a 450W EVGA 450 BT. This is an 80+ Bronze certified power supply that will plenty competent to run this system.
And there you have it! An awesome $500 gaming PC build in 2018. It is harder than ever to build budget gaming PC, but with this build we have been able to pull it off.
