6 Months of Painting - a Novice's Thoughts on Goals, Progress, and the Fun of Portrait Oil Painting
0This is somewhat of an update to the “5 months of painting” video I shared last month. I promise I’m not doing these everything month - I had some more thoughts to share about learning to paint, so I figured it might be fun to do an addendum with a 6 months of painting video. This also gives me another chance to share this fun four painting view.
As you can probably tell by how much artwork I share, I love painting. I really liked drawing, but painting has something special about it. This video covers some of the things that I find most exciting about painting, such as blocking in shapes, when features crystalize, and when you see contrast from a dark background. At this half year mark, I’ve been thinking a lot about where I want to go from here as well, like life painting and art shows.
