WELL WELL WELL, DOESN'T HE LOOK FAMILIAR.
With those gloves and that haircut...well, it's extremely weird to think that Jin Kazama's design started in Virtua Fighter 1 of all things. I mean, Jack is one thing, but the fact that the initial basis for Jin occurred four or five years before he'd even been included in a game is just amazing. What an absolutely bizarre turn of events. He only has the same basis moveset as Siba and Jeff, unfortunately, but it's still amazing to effectively see the beginning of one of the most iconic characters in fighting games as a whole. I prefer the design they ultimately went with for Akira, but that's mainly because a karateka main character just suits most fighting games. It also suits Virtua Fighter's emphasis on vaguely realistic fighting styles. Still, I can't deny that this design is pretty interesting on the whole, and I'm glad it was later reworked for Jin.
