It's neat when you get to see 7DRL and post-7DRL versions side by side. In this case you can see that the game, as a whole, hasn't changed: the same mechanics do the same things, your objective is the same, the combat produces similar (if not identical) results. Instead, there are some touch-ups to graphics, the removal of some superfluous commands, and enhanced storytelling. Although we don't see any case of this, I'm sure some bugs have also been fixed. This is a standard post-7DRL version, and I'm quite pleased to see that it's here at all.

Regarding the game itself: I think the mechanics are enough to get you along, and the long-term consequences of "training vs. timing" produce interesting results, but AI is missing, and it makes enemies extremely cut-and-dry. In spite of other randomness, I would expect this game to play out similarly most of the time.

You can find the official 7DRL version by removing "Gold" from the download link, but you may as well just play the post-7DRL version, given how it's solely a cosmetic improvement with bugfixes.
