This is really, really cool. There, I said it. Many roguelikes use position as a primary means of tactics, but this game takes that to a whole new level with the idea of formulating "squads" that, while acting as a single unit, contain discrete sub-units that make up your strategic force. Where these sub-units go in your squad has massive effects on success in the long term, and moving your pieces around is vital when handling multiple enemies. Add up the skills and the rewards from enemy death, and you have a pretty solid roguelike! I'd really like to see the terrain get some use (if it isn't already, I WAS scrolling through combat really fast after all) and perhaps more access to class/race and get some super-duper squad combinations going, but it's great as-is, too.
