9 Things YOU Missed In The Bad Batch Episode 4 + Easter Eggs And STAR WARS References Explained
There are a lot of easter eggs, references and more in the new episode of the bad batch!
Pantora is the moon that the Bad Batch visits in the episode. It’s a moon to Orto Plutonia, a planet that is home to the Talz. The planet first appeared in the fifteenth episode in the Clone Wars where Anakin and Obi-Wan had to help ease the conflict between the Pantorans and the Talz species. It was a fight over sovereignty, you know with Pantorans wanting nothing to do with the Orto Plutonians.
The depot manager's species in the episode is an ugnaught, same as Kuill in the Mandalorian.
Which is convenient as the episode stars The Mandalorian alum Fennec Shand. Fennec is in episode 4 and she tries her hardest to separate Omega from the Bad Batch. Fennec is a bounty hunter, and as to who hired her remains a secret but I bet you any money it’s the Kaminoans trying to get Omega back.
The depot manager, when contacting Fennec, tells her he’s at Raspar 6 at ro Station. IN George Lucas’ 1993 book, Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, he expands on Star Wars legends lore to say that Raspar-6 is actually the name of a terrestrial moon. Nearby, the book says that rasper-6 is the name of a terrestrial moon, talking about Pantora here, which orbited a once unidentified planet that underwent a serious atomic blast leaving massive changes to climate after the atmosphere was distraught. This is talking about Orto Plutonia, which was an agricultural planet but then the blast hit and snow and ice encompassed the planet. This was all star wars legends until The Bad Batch and Clone Wars confirmed it into canon.
When Hunter is roaming the moon, we stumble by stormtroopers and chain code implementation and if you look to the top left of the screen, there are two big blue crosshairs. In reference to Crosshair's loyalty to the Empire now, but the second one could be symbolism of one of the other bad batch’s loyalty’s shifting as well, could it be wrecker with his chip giving him headaches from the previous episode?
The security, or police that were chasing Fennec and Hunter were both played by Noshir Dalal who plays Vice Admiral Rampart in the series as well.
Hunter tries trading at the Pantoran’s thrift shop, and he tries his luck using Pyro Denton which is an explosive in the Star Wars lore, last used in The Force Awaken to help destroy Starkiller base and defeat the First Order.
The translator droid that Echo meets we never quite catch the name of, the credits reveal it is named CG-67.
So, with that ending, expect to see Fennec at least one more time in the series to explain who hired her to grab omega. We might even see her team-up with the bad batch, who knows for certain!
