Release 40.4 of the GNOME desktop environment has been announced. While it is recommended that all distributions using GNOME 40 upgrade to this version, he said that the list of updated modules and changes can be found here . About a month after the previous update, the project behind one of the most used desktops in Linux has launched GNOME 40.4. This is the fourth maintenance update in this series, one that took a huge leap forward, to the point where Canonical and the GNOME edition of Manjaro waited months to add it. Ubuntu has not yet done so, but it will do so on October 14, coinciding with the launch of the Impish Indri family.
Most novelties, available in this link, they arrive as improvements for the applications, since GNOME does not separate as KDE does with its Plasma (graphical environment) and its Gear (applications). It stands out that GNOME Shell has been updated to version 40.4 and where bugs such as the preview of windows that did not look 100% good have been improved.
