Elive, or Enlightenment live CD, is a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian and live CD with the Enlightenment window manager.
In addition to being pre-configured and ready for everyday desktop use, it also includes โElpanelโ โ a control center for easy system and desktop administration.
In fact, simplicity and intuitiveness are one of the best features of this distro.
The menu is accessible from anywhere on the desktop instead of being in one place, icons grow when you hover over them, there's a pager where you can have your windows better organized than in classic minimized mode, you you can customize it to look any way imaginable.
Elive provides animated elements such as background, icons, widgets and even the terminal.
In addition, your desktop can have 3D effects, without the need for an accelerated graphics card.
But best of all, it can also work on your older computer. So how many systems do you know that can do all of this?
Now, the project has released a new snapshot of its distribution's next release, Elive 3.8.22 Beta, with new features and changes to the default applications.
What's New in Elive 3.8.22 Beta
Elive 3.8.22 Beta includes: Desktop sizing can be configured manually now and is auto-detected by default for optimal visibility; Improved desktop boot speed in Live mode; E16 desktop with focus bug fixed; Entice EFL image viewer included; Includes real-time Markdown editor, which can export to html, ePUB and PDF.
Also, brightness settings are now smoother and in more steps; IRC chat will now use the Libera server; Google Chrome, if installed by the user, will now always be updated to the latest official version; Hibernation ensures that you have enough space on the swap partition and, if not, automatically closes the browser before hibernating.
