Here is a one-minute video about how to beat A Link to the Past in Five Minutes. This is a fairly well-known glitch that I demonstrated during a Legend of Zelda live stream in March of 2024.

As the title implies, this glitch allows you to beat A Link to the Past very quickly. And yes, this trick can be performed on SNES cartridge, as well as on SNES Classic and on Nintendo Switch.

Start a new file and play the game as normal, making your way to Hyrule Castle. Enter the front entrance and climb up a set of stairs. Then, hop off one of the ledges in that main front room, but press SELECT in midair to Save and Quit.

Now, load up the file you just saved and go back through the front door of Hyrule Castle. DO NOT TAKE ANY DAMAGE.

Walk up the steps on the left side of the first room, then enter the door on the left. Press Link against the left wall, and HOLD LEFT until the guard damages Link (You can tap on the wall with your sword to get him to notice you if you want to speed this part up).

If you're holding left when the guard pokes you, Link will phase through the left wall and he will be out of bounds. Once you're out of bounds, walk up to the next room, then walk to the upper right corner of that room.

Now simply hold UP on the D-Pad. Link will walk by a whole bunch of rooms, AND he will pass TWO Ganons. Then, he will walk straight into the room with the Triforce, and the game's ending will play.
