Warp to the last boss in Whomp 'Em (NES) - Retrogaming Easter Eggs
1,013Whomp 'Em is an NES game created by JALECO and it's oddly (or intentionally) similar to Mega Man. It's got a stage select, a rockin' soundtrack, and your main character also gains new abilities whenever he defeats a boss. And just like Mega Man, it's a ton of fun.
But while we're here, I want to detail a cool code that allows you to skip to the final boss! On the game's introductory level, hit SELECT to pause the game. Then on controller 2, press A, B, Up, Down, Up, Down, A, B, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, A, B, A, A, A, A. You'll hear a sound effect to confirm you've done it right.
Now DO IT AGAIN. Press select to pause, then on the second controller tap A, B, Up, Down, Up, Down, A, B, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, A, B, A, A, A, A. You'll hear another sound effect. Now exit the room you're in, and you will warp straight to the Final Boss! You will also have all the powers and abilities.
Note that if you die to the final boss you will respawn at the beginning of the last level.
