A Roguelite Tactics Deckbuilder With a Hex Grid?! Yes! – Stolen Crown Demo –
Stolen Crown is an Indie Deckbuilding Turn Based Card Battler Roguelite with Grid based, Hex Grid Combat! That’s right, you move your units around in this card game, so there is depth to the player’s position, so the combat is not just reduced to the cards.
At the start, you select your character class, one of 3, of which only 1 is available in the demo; I will be playing the fighter like character here.
Then, you select if you would like a relic, a companion, or a powerful chard as your starting bonus.
After, you select your abilities from a list of 3 which will be the ability you can use once per turn; it’s like a card you keep in your hand.
The next 5 cards are selected the same way, except these you have to draw, and are used and discarded in combat as you battle.
You gain new cards, items, and relics as you adventure, even companions as you encounter events, explore dungeons and complete quests.
Stolen Crown is an interesting take on the Turnbased Tactics genre, and if a Hex based Deckbuilder with surprising depth and challenge interests you, you might really like what you see.
Please take a look with me.
Note: This is the early demo version of Stolen Crown, thus any encountered bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, StolenCrown is engaging tactical roguelite fun where both the player’s position, and the cards available matter.
