The Datapath E1s does not fully support MDA, Hercules or EGA 350-line modes with an DAC converter board. The RGB2HDMI board converts the TTL signals from CGA, Tandy, PCjr., MDA, Hercules or EGA directly to HDMI without any analog conversion, unlike other methods. By outputting HDMI, the Datapath has the benefit of being able to capture a pure digital signal.

Unfortunately I am not 100% satisfied with this capture or the Thexder capture. These videos should have been captured in RGB, but it appears they were captured in YUV 4:2:2, so the borders between colors is not as sharp as they should be. Also, I realized soon after recording that the phase was not dialed in correctly, so I hit the autocalibration to fix the sparklies and shimmys.

This is SimCity v1.02, which included Godzilla without permission from Toho. The later version, v1.07, would remove Godzilla and replace him with a red lizard. v1.07 adds VGA 640x480 in 16 colors mode support, but 640x350 with 16 colors is the best mode the original DOS release supports.

This is being played on an EGA card in the Tandy 1000 TL, with the latter's DAC providing the sound effects. The sound effects from the DAC are almost the same as those played on the PC Speaker, with one exception. Godzilla's authentic-sounding roar, (probably taken from The Return of Godzilla) for whatever reason, is only played via the Tandy DAC (and possibly the Covox Sound Master). I would note that someone on the staff was clearly a fan of Ultraseven.

As Godzilla's movement is fairly random, he didn't do any damage. One demolished church fixed that!
