Abandoning "Mandatory" Characters in Shining Force (Sega Genesis) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
3,780In Shining Force for the Sega Genesis, you're usually prohibited from leaving Guardiana until certain conditions are met, but with a little manipulation and some patience, you can bypass those mandatory events and leave town before you're intended to depart.
Normally if you try to leave Guardiana (the starting location of the game) before speaking with the King and recruiting a few characters into your party, the guards at the town gate will block your path.
However, if you can manipulate the position of a wandering NPC in such a way that the guards can't occupy the two spaces at the town's exit, you can just leave. See ya!
Doing this means Luke, Tao, Lowe, Ken, and Hans will never join the Shining Force, and the game will be significantly harder for the first few battles, but if you're looking for a challenge, then give it a short! I mean a shot.
Also what's funny is that occasionally a character that is not even in your party will have dialogue.
