Abyssal Byakuren (Labyrinth of Touhou 2 Plus Disk)
0Abyssal Byakuren has a fixed, 11 turn pattern:
1. Sutra - Herculean Strength (buffs her ATK to MAX)
2. Skanda's Legs (single target, direct WND attack. Has +16 to ACC, buffs Byakuren's SPD by 16%)
3. Sutra - Vajra Shield (buffs her DEF to MAX)
4. Master of the Trichiliocosm (single target, direct PHYS attack. Can inflict SHK)
5. Sutra - Enhanced Chant (buffs her MAG to MAX)
6. Magic Milky Way (group targeting, MYS attack. Has +40 to ACC, can debuff ATK, MAG and SPD)
7. Sutra - Mental Force (buffs her MND to MAX)
8. Star Sword Apologetics (single target, composite SPI attack. Has +32 to ACC, can debuff ATK and MAG, can also inflict SIL)
9. Half Moon Slash (generic attack that halves HP)
10. Ultra Recovery Sutra (heals 20% of Abyssal Byakuren's HP)
11. Karmic Retribution (from the In Laquetti fight. Group target attack that "reflects" all the debuffs and ailment effects of the boss onto your own party)
tl;dr Until Turn 9, she buffs a stat on odd turns and uses a personal attack on even turns.
The only thing that will interrupt this pattern is Abyssal Byakuren's Sutra: Perfect Resistance move. It gets used once Abyssal Byakuren's HP goes below 70% and it puts her current pattern on hold while making her invincible for 5 turns. There are no extra mechanics beyond this and you can sum up Abyssal Byakuren's gimmick as "having Majesty but much, much worse".
As there is almost no depth to this fight, I strongly recommend bringing your hardest hitting characters and just bullying the Youkai Nun with Aya and Yukari shenanigans. The only difference between a "legit" run of this fight and a run that uses Aya and Yukari is you're just saving yourself an extra 2 to 3 minutes.
Abyssal Byakuren has immunity to DTH, has high resistance PSN, PAR, HVY, SHK, TRR and SIL and has slightly less resistance to debuffs. She has slightly good affinity for MYS, SPI, DRK and PHYS, and slightly bad affinity for FIR, CLD, WND and NTR.
