Adam Warlock Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 MCU Casting Explained + Plot Leaks & Rumors!
11From rumor to reality, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 will introduce Will Poulter as Adam Warlock for the third Guardians film which confirms a few things for the movie, including how Adam will forever change the roster of Guardians we have now
So, you’ll recall that Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 had a post-credit scene featuring the egg of Adam Warlock in possession of the Sovereign and Adam Warlock’s first appearance in the MCU went from the Collector to the Sovereign but that’s beside the point - it could be setting up Adam Warlock as the villain for the film given that Ayesha and the sovereign fleet want revenge on the Guardians for when Rocket stole batteries from them, and also the Guardians have defeated and evaded the Sovereign twice now, so you can say that tensions are quite high between the guardians and the Sovereign - so will Adam Warlock be a villain for the film? Yes, heck I could see him hatching from an egg and even taking out the entire sovereign in a fit of rage, and uncertainty - but I seriously believe that Adam Warlock will find his way by the end of the film to be joining the guardian’s team and be an official member
See, James Gunn, writer, and director of the franchise confirmed that this will be the last ride for our original guardians’ team - a lot of us know already that Drax will be dying in the film, not just because Dave Bautista confirmed that this will be his last Guardians film, but also because Guardians 1 saw Groot die and the title was Groot’s colors, but then Yondu died in Guardians 2 and that title was blue, so if Guardians 3 sees the grey title, then we all know that Drax will be dead by the end of the film - fully cementing in that this Guardians story could center around Drax but I heard a rumor a while back that the film will also focus on Rocket, potentially even delving deeper into rocket’s story with Lyla the otter making an appearance, and the team fighting the high evolutionary played by Mark Hamill on the planet where Rocket is from Halfworld but that was just a rumor. There is also the subplot of Quill going to find Gamora, and it was rumored that along the way, Quill and Nebula would finally bond and meanwhile, Drax would find out that his family was still alive - so lots of stories to cover
So, how does Adam Warlock fit? Well, you could kill off Drax, have Rocket run away with Lyla at the end of the film, away from Groot, leaving two spots on the team, and who better to fill two spots on a broken team than Adam Warlock?
My question is since the holiday special comes out before Guardians 3, then how does the holiday special set up Adam Warlock for Guardians 3? So, my answer is to have the Guardians experience the Gamora plot where Quill and the guardians go searching for Gamora, find her wherever she finds herself - hopefully, she becomes a warrior on sakaar like she did in the what-if show which can prompt the MCU to finally bring together the collector and grandmaster and officially tell us that they are brothers like from the comics and do a mini-contest of champions like the pair do in the comics - just to have it all lead Gamora back on the team by the end of the movie - the end of the holiday special even featuring a post-credit scene that ties directly into Guardians 3 where you show Adam Warlock in front of the Guardians ship in dead space suddenly or have the entire sovereign fleet show up in front fo they guardians suddenly, I don’t know, I’m thinking something like a thor Ragnarok Thanos black aastar post-credit scene type thing that ties directly into the follow-up - considering that James Gunn recently said that the holiday special will be introducing the greatest marvel character ever, so who else but Adam could likely be of James Gunn’s best interest when talking about a new character
Personally, I like the casting, I can totally see it; I heard a lot of people wanting Zac Efron, but this casting isn’t terrible, and might just work out what do you think?
