Decided to cover both games in a single episode since there wasn't a huge amount to say about each of them. The term "Line Wars" is actually referring to the fact that the original game was meant to be played across phone lines using modem connections. LineWars II supports networked play as well but I guess ethernet cables count as lines too. ;)

Additional Information and Corrections:

* Here's a quick link to Patrick Aalto's LineWars pages: http://linewars.patrickaalto.com

* I tried to find a better version of the music I used during the credits, but wasn't really able to. It's the music you hear over the PC Speaker while on the title screen for the original LineWars, provided you turn mouse support off and have things configured fairly well. It doesn't always play properly and restarts every time you select a new menu option.

* One interesting little tid-bit is that this is the SECOND time I've reviewed anything made independently by someone in Finland, the first time being Star Mines 2 in Episode 4.

* I was recently informed that the reason why the S3 800x600 graphics mode in LineWars II doesn't work in DOSBox is because the current version of DOSBox (v0.74) emulates the S3Trio64V2 chipset... which was a newer version of the S3 hardware that LineWars II can't properly detect and utilize. Ah well, maybe in future versions of DOSBox. ;)
