What a misleading hints section.
I went in with far too many units, so I lost none, even using Archers against their counter in the form a Slinger.
They have 6 Axemen and 3 Slingers in total. I imagine the best route is probably to get around 15 villagers and rush with them rather than waste time with an actual military.
They didn't rebuild units, and only the units had to be killed.

Oh well.
