Agyata Shilpi - The Unknown Craftsman (不为人知的工匠)
Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts:--
Approximately placed in the first half of the 8 century CE, the enigmatic and colossal monolithic temple complex at Masrur is one of the most intriguing unsolved mysteries of history that may hold vital and hitherto unknown clues about the dynamics of large-scale artistic creation in this area. Masrur is situated 38 km from Kangra Town of Himachal Pradesh. Art historians and scholars believe it is a precursor of the famous Angkor Wat temple complex of Cambodia and is highly superior and unparalleled because of its artistic style as well as excellent craftsmanship. Keeping in view the historic, architectural and cultural significance of this beautiful and serene complex, the IGNCA has produced this creative film directed by noted filmmaker Amit Dutta. The film is in Gaddi language with English subtitles and has been made in-situ in the breathtaking and sylvan ambience of Masrur.
