Alex Kidd in Miracle World mini comparison: DX 2021 version has stutter problems.
I was browsing social media and noticed both PC98 Audi and John Linneman on Twitter were mentioning that the new version of Alex Kidd in Miracle World is running in 50hz with 60hz output.
This leads to stutter frames where the character does not move forward for 1 or even 2 frames (yet the sprite CAN change).
I recorded footage from both the 1986 original and new 2021 versions. I checked the videos on YUA and looked it at frame by frame and noticed that the old 1986 version did not have any stutter, every frame has Alex moving forward.
So here is a quick comparison on something the development team needs to fix as soon as possible.
It's not the first time 50hz in 60hz output was used.
Some Virtual Console games for PAL Wii U and most famously the Playstation Classic mini console (some games) used this method.
