Streets of Rage 1, 2 & 3: Over 50 Game Mechanic facts you very likely didn't know about (SOR 1-3)
My 14th Anniversary on Youtube.
I decided to make a Streets of Rage video on this one for 2 reasons:
2020 my game of the year was Streets of Rage 4 not only because it's amazing but I had a life changing moment for winning a $1000 on the day after my birthday from the official high score competition.
The Streets of Rage franchise will turn 30 years old this August (September in North America) so this is probably the biggest SOR contribution if Sega does absolutely nothing to the series this year.
You probably have seen my detailed comparisons when covering Streets of Rage 4's patch differences (both boss battles and character balance adjustments).
This time I wanted to make a series of glitches/tricks/quirks on the original 16-bit trilogy.
The goal is to cover things that are VERY OBSCURE, even the die-hard Streets of Rage players are likely to not know about it.
So super obvious facts including things like:
how to land from a throw or
playing the Japanese version of Streets of Rage 3 is way, way easier.
Are not part of the video.
I have recorded:
20 interesting facts on Streets of Rage 1
14 possibly interesting facts on Streets of Rage 2
24 very interesting facts on Streets of Rage 3.
Streets of Rage 1 I have done a lot of speedruns on and know the game mechanics very well.
Streets of Rage 2 is the toughest because not only it's the MOST popular entry but it's hard to find obscure facts about it these days.
Streets of Rage 3 almost ended up like a typical comparison video. I cover some interesting changes between both Bare Knuckle 3 and Streets of Rage 3 including points per hit change and even damage output differences from the same enemy type and difficulty.
