#AD | Crisis Wing: Invincibility glitch aka the fake 1cc playthrough.
Labelled as #AD as I was given a Switch Game Key from Woovit. This video is not a paid sponsor.
I had a look at the website Woovit and checked out some vertical shmups after playing DoDonPachi and Jamestown+.
Then, I saw Crisis Wing and it is very reminiscent to early 90 shmups where the visuals were not super complex at the time, despite saying that, the final bosses were getting close to bullet hell territory.
During my first (unrecorded) playthrough, I discovered a bug that enables permanent invincibility that lasts until the start of the next level. This is a major bug because losing all lives to trigger a game over and using a continue will take the player back to a previous checkpoint and not where the player is currently at. That's right. actual skill will be required to defeat some bosses with 2 or less deaths per attempt... without the invincibility bug of course.
It's not the most exciting playthrough but you get to see all 7 stages in a single loop without any game over filler :D. The fake 1CC is barely doable thanks to the extra lives requirement by obtaining a lot of points along the way, so get as many 10,000 point item bonuses as you can.
Why is it a fake 1CC?
Using load last checkpoint for executing the glitch adds a point at the end of the current score to indicate that the player has used a continue. A true 1CC run would require that last digit to be 0 but that involves playing really good for over 35 minutes.
