Alice: Madness Returns Part 19: I’m Tone-Deaf
So, after chasing this very odd Octopus and recovering the script for the show, we then head out to find out why the music isn’t in tune. We find this see-through glass Fish hybrid (I stopped questioning what these strange creatures are after the river of blood in the beginning of the game so…) who is supposed to be working on the music. It tells us that they can’t hear the music being played because something seems to be blocking and, low and behold, it is the corruption. I guess the developers realized that the hide and seek game could’ve been kind of dull so they added three rooms dedicated to brawling. I don’t really have any complaints about this sections, what I do want to rant on about is the music mini game that happens. After clearing the three pipes, we are then asked to help the fish get in tune but, the mini game is so laggy and can prove to be unresponsive that I just said screw it. I don’t know if you could tell that from the video, but there were times that I thought I was doing it perfectly but the game just ate my inputs and kept failing me. For a hack and slash styled game, they have all these very odd mini games that you don’t really expect to be in here and some are good (the ship mini game was solid) while others seem lacking (like this musical number).
