In order for me to rant/ramble about the event in this video, I will be talking about some spoilers that happen so, if you haven’t watched/played this section before, then you should probably stop reading this now. So, after our little photoshoot with that random stranger and saving those hostages, we then head out to complete the next story mission that will unlock the next Island. Here, we actually get confronted by Sasha who is the person that has been whispering in our ears every time we get that black tar on our face. Along the way, we do also get told how the Reapers have been getting so many members and why they always look like they are puking out the same black tar. It doesn’t go into much depth as to what this tar does exactly or why they are trying to poison everyone but, I guess you could speculate on the matter. Either way, we do get our very first boss battle in this game and, for the most part, it was pretty good, if not a little repetitive. Straight out of the gates, we get attacked by her and then we rip off some sort of valve that releases a bunch of tar (again, they never really explain what this tar is/how it works/whether it’s part of her power). I guess from that Cole just assumes he should start ripping out all the valves that are on her outfit which is how the fight goes; when we do enough damage for her, she collapses to the ground and then we have a small interactive QTE that makes us rip off another Valve. I will say that the QTE’s are more interactive than most games because you have to move the cursor to a specific location while smashing a button (Middle Earth should’ve taken some notes and realized that this isn’t the entire boss fight; It’s going to be hard to let that one go). However, I did mention that the fight gets a little repetitive after a while since you have to repeat the process three or four times. Overall, it wasn’t a bad boss fight although it doesn’t really explain a lot and, since I already know how the game ends, it raises a few more questions than answers.
