I'm a huge fan of the Alien movies and the franchise as a whole, to put it lightly. For the record too, I really like Alien 3 the movie as well. Just a damn shame that they wasted a lot of potential and characters by going the route they did. But I do like it and very much enjoy it for what it is, even if I'm in the minority. But back the game....If memory serves, I believe I had run into this game in our local pwn shop around the same time that I saw the first two movies for the first time. Needless to say I picked this game up right away without any hesitation, even though I knew nothing of the game or the movie for that matter. I distinctly remember plugging the game in for the first time and wondering "what the hell has happened to Ripley? Where's her hair? And why am I on what looks like a prison planet? And uhmm...what do I do here?". While I was still a bit confused by the game and its premise at first (and the movie to a lesser degree, which I had not seen..yet), once I figured out how the game itself plays I was all over this game...like instantly. The ability to choose the missions in whatever order greatly appealed to me, since it was nice to choose some missions over others while I improved my skills and adapted to the game play and its inevitable quirks. Once I did watched the movie, it made the game make a lot more sense...to a degree. While the setting and plot of the game is accurate, the game play and the sheer amount of the Xenomorph infestation is far, far more accurate and in line with the previous movie Aliens, than it is with Alien 3. It never made sense either that we never got an actual Aliens game for home consoles in North America, since it certainly lends itself (and continues to do so) to a game adaption more then any Alien movie in the franchise. But back to Alien 3. Game play is pretty straight forward, choose your mission, complete the objective(s) and kill anything in your path. Pretty simple and standard really. But when you look at it a little closer, it is most beneficial to choose your missions carefully; some are easier on your health, or ammo or if you have to weld up a door that can make it longer and more difficult to move around the stage and therefore completing other missions and putting a strain on your health and ammo count. If I were to have any complaints it's that the game does get a little overlong and monotonous after a while since the mission variety never really changes up much. But if you get tired and need a break from the Xeno-slaying carnage, you have a password system to help out which is a real relief since it is a long game. The length actually became a very real issue for me since the PC that I had at the time of the original recording (I actually did this video a couple years back and have been sitting on it since I debated about redoing it but decided to put it out as I originally did it) could not record more then a level at a time due to length and would consistently crash every time after a certain amount of time, and it never took that long. So in order to combat this problem I had to break up the recording level by level and then put it all together....which was a real pain. With that said, the game was completed pretty much in one sitting (did 2/3 one evening and the last 1/3 the next evening after work), level by level. That's why the "game completion time" after each stage is finished is different since I was having to stop then reload the game and the emulator after each level in order to prevent the crash. When it was all done, I was very content and pleased at having gone back and done this game since I had not played it for years after beating it as a teenager long ago....seems to be a common occurrence for a lot of the games I finish and then upload to the channel. I would totally recommend picking this game up if you happen to run across it. While its certainly not a common game, its not impossible to find either. But the cost of it is rising since it appears that the game (and the movie to some degree) has had a bit of re-evaluation in the last few years and its reputation has been increasing as a result. In conclusion, I am very happy to say that having done the Alien 3 games for the major home consoles they have all been pretty enjoyable to varying degrees and have held up pretty good too in comparison to a lot of the same type of games of the era. Its been a fun trip down memory lane for sure. So without further adieu, ALIEN 3 on Sega, ALIEN 3 on NES are defeated, controllers and consoles put away. With a little luck I'll be able to move onto another game or franchise in about 6 weeks or so. This is Rental Rewind Gaming, signing off...........
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy!

(Not actually packing it in yet, got quite a few videos to upload still and I'll cross that bridge and address it when I get to it so to speak. But that's a ways off still. Just thought it'd be a nice way to end the write-up.)
