back to the normal maps in alien vendetta. this one doesn't hit quite as hard as the techbases that came before it. it also makes some weird choices, like having a seemingly solid grate be completely immaterial and having key progression locked behind activating computer terminals with no obvious audio or visual feedback. well, one of them activates a lowering wall trap right behind you, so i guess that's kind of obvious. this whole first half of the level doesn't really have much too exciting in it actually, with the low point probably being the blue key room that has you fighting hell knights that you can let out of closets one at a time. then it very suddenly kicks into high gear after passing through the yellow key door as a very large number of revenants gets dropped on you in close range. 29 revenants isn't the most revenants anyone's fought but having them all wake up at the same time in a small room is pretty jarring. the room immediately following that has a big showdown against six cyberdemons - you get an invulnerability but it's very easy to run out of ammo and the cells are tucked into closets that can be tricky to navigate. from there cross a lava pit - spooky looking unless you know there are teleporters that let you deal with the enemies way easier - pick off some chaingunners guarding the exit, and you're done. not as spicy or well developed as maps 13 or 14 but after map 32 i'm not going to complain.
