[Alien Vendetta] MAP17: Nukefall (UV-Max Demo)
man, this has to be one of my least favorite maps in this wad, and it all comes down to the cyberdemon in the first room. it's a complicated mess of linedefs, walls raising and lowering, two baron reinforcements, and a bfg in the center. and the way it's supposed to go is that you charge in, grab the bfg, run upstairs for cells, and then just hope for the best. i found a way to do this that was... somewhat more consistent using the super shotgun and keeping the cyberdemon trapped. you have to be really precise with tripping the linedefs, though, and there's still a lot of angles the cyberdemon can hit you from.
most of the level after that isn't too remarkable. it's quite short on health and somewhat short on ammo, so that needs keeping tabs on. but the biggest potential threat of the revenant corridors are heavily blunted by being trapped behind bars while you can tee off with the rocket launcher. the finale is also pretty spicy with ten archviles between you and the exit. i handled this pretty poorly and wound up with very little health and ammo to clean up a few chaingunners i left behind. but thanks to a probably-unintended bump grab, i was able to carefully finish them off and escape with the clear.
