Aliens versus Predator 2 Gameplay - Marine Episode 1: Unwelcome Guests
1After realizing that the Primary Operations Complex was indeed compromised, the Weyland-Yutani personnel on LV-1201 sent a distress signal to the Colonial Marines, and Major McCain's unit were the closest forces that could go there and rescue any survivors inside. However, Weyland-Yutani also stated that they want the site intact, with or without survivors, which rules out the use of heavy weaponry. Once deployed after a rough landing, the Marines split into teams to secure the Complex and bring it back online. Among them, there is Harrison, nicknamed "Frosty". A seasoned Soldier who stands out by "staying cool under pressure" and fending off by himself at almost hopeless odds. The Marine side of the storyline focuses on his whereabouts.
For being the first episode, this one is quite hard. It could have taken me much less time, but I wanted to show the messages I found, as they gave more insight about the game's plot, and there were a lot of those along the way. Also, the Marine is kind of a glass cannon in this game, because the Pulse Rifle is pretty much a general purpose weapon, but a single Alien can tear him apart easily if he misses the shots, let alone having to fight several Aliens at a time. I had to retry this episode a bunch of times, even off the record, but I think I came up with a strategy at the end, which I think will let me beat this mission in a clean run in the future. Anyway, it's done and I'm ready to keep going with the next one.
