Riven: The Sequel to Myst Gameplay Part 1 - A Lot of Reading and Aimless Exploration
Hello watchers! Today I'm starting a new game for the channel. It is "Riven: The Sequel to Myst", which is a self-explanatory title, exploring what happened after the player's character helped Atrus to repair his Myst Book and get out from the place he was trapped in the previous game (its good ending). Like I did with the prequel, I'm recording the videos of this game with the Xbox Game Bar.
It seems that, like Atrus himself, his wife Catherine is trapped in another place that's only accessible via a Linking Book: the Island of Riven, which seems to be also "the Fifth Age of Myst". Apparently, this island is about to collapse, and Atrus can only try to evacuate the island before its imminent destruction. To do so, he must rely on the friend he recently made, the player's character; send him/her to Riven and wait for his/her signal when Catherine is secured, if she is still alive. Unfortunately, the player's character is up to a rough start, as the Book Atrus gave him/her for casting the signal was stolen by Riven's Islanders right off the bat. Therefore, there are two main objectives now for the player, being those to find Catherine and recover the Stolen Book. Unlike Myst, Riven seems to be an uncharted land, which complicates the mission, but the player managed to crack the mysteries of Myst, so why can't he/she crack those of Riven too?
Find out how the story unfolds throughout this series.
