You can delay the cutscene by pausing just before the flames appear, you can toy with this and get into the room transition while the cutscene is triggered.

I could get to the destroyed room but I can't move due to the cutscene forcing me to lose all control over Samus.

Also the damage dealt to Samus is around 12 to 15 tanks but it's scripted to stop at 5 energy.
