AlternativA (2010) | Point & Click | 1440p60/4K60 | Longplay Full Game Walkthrough No Commentary
Full game longplay of AlternativA, a cyberpunk dystopian Point & Click adventure game, developed by Czech devs from Centauri Production and Bohemia Interacive, released in 2010 for the PC only. Here played at a 4K60 in-game resolution via ini edit, highest possible details, recorded at 1440p60 due to my mistake while recording in OBS (again xD), H.265 HEVC. Note I used the game's 16:9 aspect ratio option here, but it doesn't really work, only the FMVs are in widescreen, the game itself is still in letterboxed 4:3, weird.
I rated it low, 4,5/10. If you want a good cyberpunk Point & Click, go with The Moment of Silence. There are good reason for this rating, mainly - it ends in the middle of things, like their budget just wasn't high enough to make the other half of the game. It's buggy, has some technical quirks. One cutscene at around 3:45:00 doesn't show up at all. And, first and foremost, the last 30% of the game is utter shit, it's so rushed and bad, the dialogues, the new location, the story, it just doesn't make sense, completely. The nice atmosphere of dystopian cyberpunk holds up only for the first 50% of the game, then it just falls off, it's like... the dystopia suddenly ends? Like the people could have just left their dystopian areas, like a kilometer away, and then it suddenly becomes an ultra clean utopia? Just, I don't know, the atmosphere just ends, abruptly. The dialogues overall are not great. Just... unfinished, half-assed product, that has it's merits, but they quickly end at the half point of the game.
AlternativA is a dystopian adventure game set in the post-apocalyptic future of 2045, where only a global government is in charge. Only two corporations survived: Endora Corporation (mining/construction) and Theolex Industries (technology). Richard Boček is fired from his job for no reason, and so he begins to resist, discovering conspiracy and murder along the way.
The game consists of combination puzzles. In addition, dialogue choices can affect whether Boček will succeed or be captured by the police. The game has difficulty levels; lower ones allow the player to redo a failed dialogue sequence. The game has a mouse controlled interface. It features 2.5D graphics with pre-rendered backgrounds and real-time 3D character models.
