Crysis 1 (2011) | Xbox 360 | 1440p60 | Longplay Full Game Walkthrough No Commentary
Full game longplay of Crysis (1), the first game in the Crysis series to come out, this here being the Xbox 360 port of the game released in October 2011 for the PS3/X360 digitally, running on CryEngine 3 (Crysis on PC from 2007 ran on CryEngine 2, earlier iteration), played on Series X via Backwards Compatibility, which means ultra-stable framerate at 30-31 fps (because Crytek couldn't add one single line of code to change their v-sync lock to 30 fps instead of 31 fps), at 720p internal resolution, no AA, it got no Xbox One X patch, which means the game looks basically the same as on original hardware x360, just runs about HOLY SHIET better. Recorded at 1440p60 H.265 HEVC via OBS.
Note: this was recorded at the same time as I was streaming on twitch (no microphone here of course, just pure game capture), so there might be some fragments where I derp around or do something stupid, mainly because focusing on talking with sense and playing well at the same time is a bit harder hehe. :)
=======Review of the Xbox 360 version========= It runs on a newer iteration of the engine, it was released 6 months after Crysis 2 came out, so the engine is entirely taken from the console versions of Crysis 2, cut down much, MUCH compared to the original Crysis on pc in 2007. Physics, effects, textures, draw distances, it's all dialed back just so it could run on PS3/Xbox 360 consoles. And boi, it did NOT run well. X D At all, it run at like 15-20 fps on PS3, and 20-25 fps on Xbox 360, it was baaaaaaad. But, thanks to the magic of Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One/Series consoles, this game now runs at perfectly stable 30/31 fps, with no drops at all except when the game saves a checkpoint, and with much quicker loading times. The game looks definitely not as next gen as Crysis 1 on pc, that's not the same league, not even close. Still, there are some *moments* when you can see the visual genius of the original, there are a few of those moments here. This version of the game has the Vtol sequence completely cut out, the game just gets straight to the aircraft carrier mission, which is a BIG omission, but done purely because the game run too bad to be playable on the consoles. I'd say - this isn't the best version of the game, it doesn't get close to the original, has a cut out level, it's like a switch conversion of Doom 2016, or Doom Eternal, like yeah, it's the same game, and sometimes unrecognizable at the same time. Not for everyone, there are better versions of this game out there.================================================
The game begins on August 7, 2020, when North Korean forces led by General Ri-Chan Kyong take control of the Lingshan Islands. A team of American civilian archaeologists, led by Dr. Rosenthal, send out a distress call indicating that they have discovered something that could change the world. A week later, United States Army Delta Force's Raptor Team is dispatched to the islands, with the core mission of evacuating them and securing any valuable information that they have. The team consists of Nomad, Psycho, Aztec, Jester and team leader Prophet (all under code names); they are outfitted with technologically advanced Nanosuits, which help protect them from gunfire and explosions, as well as giving them superhuman strength and abilities. As they perform a high-altitude jump onto one of the islands, an unknown flying entity disrupts the jump by smashing into Nomad, and the team is separated. The crash deactivates Nomad's Nanosuit and destroys his parachute, but he is saved because he lands on water and his suit absorbs the impact of the landing. After he makes his way to shore, Prophet is able to reset Nomad's suit remotely, restoring its normal function.
As Raptor Team regroups after the jump, Aztec is killed by an unknown entity. When the team finds him, they discover that whatever killed him also killed and dismembered a nearby squad of KPA soldiers. The remaining members of Raptor Team proceed with the mission.
