Amarok Linux is a GNU / Linux desktop distribution based entirely on Debian 11 ('Bullseye'). You can choose between two modern desktop environments: GNOME and Xfce. Both are good-looking and ready out of the box multimedia system, which allows you to carry on with your work right away. It is also a flexible system and very useful on flash drives.

Amarok focuses on providing an elegant and immediate experience for users. Therefore, they provide a pleasant and simple overall appearance, in addition to a lot of multimedia tools, such as codecs, audio and video player.

Brazilian distribution Amarok Linux 3.1.2 has just been released

The Amarok Linux 3.1.2 release that is based on Debian Testing "Bullseye" has just been released. The most important new feature is the adoption of a new official Amarok Desktop. Thus, GNOME 3.38.5 becomes the default desktop of this Brazilian Amarok Linux 3.1.1 distribution that has just been released. GNOME brings a modern and innovative system together with the stability of Debian.

In this new version, the Amarok Linux distribution makes new features “attractive” to existing users as well as new users. First, we updated the System Base, the Kernel was updated to the latest version (5.10.46), among other implementations and updates!

Brazilian distribution Amarok Linux 3.1.2 has just been released. See the main changes:
GNOME Software was replaced by Amarok Install (fork of Mintinstall) for its convenience and ease of searching for applications within the system;
The Language Settings application was added, to be able to install language add-ons to the system or change the native language for one of your choice, in the version with “XFCE”;
Updated Base (base-files) for Debian 11;
Amarok Linux now has AmarokSystem. AmarokSystem is a basic Amarok system package used by the desktop and other Amarok tools to gather information and process common system tasks;
The “About Amarok” application was redesigned and now has the option to Export System Report;
From this version, the Amarok Welcome application (Welcome Screen) was added, which helps the user with Updates, Backups, System Settings, Firewall and also with the Application Manager (Amarok Install);
Kernel updated to 5.10.0-8;
Firefox 90
VLC 3.0.16
And many other updates from Debian itself.

To update existing systems, follow these steps:
sudo apt dist-upgrade -yq
1st Stage:
sudo apt remove amarok-info amaroksystem amarok-meta-core amarok-meta-xfce
2nd Stage:
sudo apt install amarok-info-xfce amaroksystem amarok-meta-core amarok-meta-xfce
3rd Stage:
sudo apt auto-remove
4th Stage:
sudo apt remove gnome-software software-properties-gtk
5th Stage (Extra):
sudo apt auto-remove
