7Longplay for "European Soccer Challenge" from Players software on the Amstrad CPC!
I think this will be the last of my soccer game vids to coincide with the Euro 2012 finals currently happening. The previous vids weren't for games on the Amstrad, but this is the only 'European' arcade soccer game for the CPC I could find! But.... ummm really it's for national teams in the champions league - not international! Hence this is Man Utd vs Barcelona!
Only one match and no option for a tournament or league, but it's quite long in length anyway! I came across this game a couple of years ago doing the "A-Z Amstrad Soccer Games" video series and was quite impressed by this budget title. It plays rather well on first viewing especially considering you'd only pay £2 for this, on extended plays it's overly simplicity gameplay and flaws become apparent such as - you can only shoot when standing still, you constantly use sliding tackles to move quicker around the pitch, tiny goal and difficult initially to score, and umm is that all there is to it? Still, quite fun and good value for budget - probably even better for 2 players!
(Note - this is the 128k version that does exist, which includes music on the title screen - however it appears the data for the music may have corrupted on the transfer and there are no in-game sounds)
