An Action RPG Where Your Potions Are Your Weapons | BattleJuice Alchemist demo
3Hello everyone! This was another demo from the latest Steam Next Fest. This is BattleJuice Alchemist, a quite unique action RPG where you fight, stealth or just jump your way through enemies by using potions. The gameplay is pretty slow-paced but intense at the same time, and I got addicted to it. I was playing for 3 hours in this small but open fantasy world full of dangers and upgrades. It counts with some of the classic RPG elements like leveling up, upgrade, craft items, main quests, side quests, fast-travel, and so on... But the art and the way the combat works is so different that the whole experience felt quite fresh. I also have to mention that there are two types of combats, the one with free-movement and the close combat, which starts the moment you get too close to an enemy.
The few problems I had with this game were, first, I was getting/buying some blueprints more than once, thinking they were new; and second, the game has performance issues. When I opened the game, it was using a lot of resources, which was heavily improved by reducing the shadow quality, but then it was pushing my GPU once again when I entered a new area, and I don't really think it should happen.
