An Early Look at a Turn Based FTL like?! Yes! – Breachway Demo –
8Breachway is an Indie, Sci-Fi, Turn Based FTL like deckbuilder, yep, a deckbuilder that feels like FTL.
While the abilities are displayed as cards, in Breachway, you are not limited by AP, like in Slay The Spire or other similar card games, rather you can play as many abilities, represented as cards on the UI, that you can afford.
BreachWay is Heavily Influenced by FTL.
Like in FTL, your energy is spread over different subsystems, which you use to make attacks, defend, and play utility abilities, all of which use some combination of the 3 sub system resources:
Ordnance: Resource for Attacks
Energy: Defense and Abilities
Mass: Upgrades and Repairs
What exactly these resources are used on depends on which systems to have on your ship; The Light Flak cannon shreds enemy ships with a giant space shotgun, dealing more and more damage the more you shred pieces of them off, and is mostly fed by your Ordnance, while your Shield System uses Energy and a bit of Mass to absorb hits meant for your hull.
Then you have the Ion Cannon, which seem to take both Energy and Ordnance to break enemy shields and strip resources from you, reducing the abilities you have available next turn.
There are also laser systems, missile systems, close in weapons systems to shoot down said missiles, and many more!
Also, like in FTL, you gain scrap after defeating foes, and passing random events, and can upgrade your ship, choosing to increase 1 of your subsystems, and thus the amount of specific energy you get per turn.
And like in FTL, you can reallocate subsystem energy each turn, shifting your ship power to whichever systems you think needs it the most in the upcoming turns.
So, like I said, BreachWay is Very Influenced by FTL!

Still, Breachway is a very good, SciFi Turn-Based Roguelite Heavily influence by FTL, and is easily worth a wishlist, and a watch.
