5Haru The Armada of the Astral Void is an Indie, Arcade, Lovecraftian Horde Survival like set in space, in a Sci-Fi Future where one catboy must save the starbase!
Not sure on the whole catboy thing, but at least the gameplay is good, and tough too!
The Lovecraftian elements are strong here, as you blast apart spawning alien things, spawning elder things, and try to take out the elder signs that seem to be summoning the otherworldly monsters from beyond the veil.
Also, the purple veil / void of doom is approaching; stay out of it to survive!
There are also mid bosses to destroy, like void worms and demiliches, that seem intent on taking you down!
Send them back to the void to score their sweet loot!
Gameplay-wise: you blast apart the Lovecraftian space invaders, and you collect rings, which are used in the starbase to upgrade your ship for the current run, buying system upgrades like more rocket boost, larger pickup distance, repair bots; stuff like that.
Meta Progression is present in the form of the odd, blue square gems you can find while blasting apart your spawning alien foes, which are used in between runs to strengthen your ship in the future; offering 10% increases to speed, weapon damage, range, projective size; powerful and impactful stuff like that.
Note: This is the demo of Haru The Armada of the Astral Void, and any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Haru The Armada of the Astral Void is offering a fun Arcade SciFi Horde Survival experience,
and is easily worth a wishlist, and a watch.
