The Combat:
You have an attack, and a dodge roll on a short cooldown, and you can sprint around, but that drains your stamina, as does kicking the crap out of zombies!
You think I’m kidding?

The kick even knocks a whole group of zombies back!
So Powerful!
Brave future heromans Never Skips Leg Day!
Plus, the combat has some real tactical meat to it.
Taking a knee and crouch firing grants an increased hit and crit change, but slows you down, though you can still dodge roll while on your knees; Hero Mans is versatile!
You can even go completely prone for even more of a boost, but you can’t dodge roll out of that one, so
Be careful where you lay down hero!
Headshots drop zombies, but they walk on for a little bit first, like the silly, rotten chickens they are! Don’t you know you’re Dead, ZOMBIE?!
And the push pause prevents the action from becoming overwhelming: if the zombie hordes get too dense, or you just feel too hemmed in, just pause and plan your next move, no fuss.
Gameplay:
So, explore your environment: score loot and new weapons, find fun problem solving tools like grenades, and kick the crap out of the zombie menace!
Plus, you can score sneak attacks with the knife for a 1 hit KO, if you’re the type who does their best work from behind.
Tip: Watch out for the zombies with the skull over their head, they spit a nasty, poisonous bile that can really rock your world! Dodge Heromans; DODGE! And keep those Medkits handy!
Note: This is an early look at the demo for Downward Spear so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Downward Spear is a fun and engaging Tactical Real Time with Pause light RPG that feels good, and has some real tactical meat on its still growing bones, and is easily worth a wishlist and a watch.
